ROCS research cruise

A team of researchers left port in 2024 on the HAFRÓ research vessel Árni Friðriksson for ROCS' first research cruise bound for coring sites in the Irminger Sea, Denmark Strait, and the Icelandic Basin.

ROCS Lecture Series

Novel application of ancient sedimentary DNA analysis

Central to our work is the novel application of ancient sedimentary DNA analysis on marine and lake sediment cores. This, for the first time, enables descriptions of entire ecosystems in relation to climate development in through historical time.
